Cultivating cells has never been so easy

This edition is packed with exciting updates, including the introduction of our newest product, the CellScrew® mini. This compact yet powerful system is designed to simplify cell expansion processes, making it easier and more efficient than ever.

Say hello to our new down-scale model: the CellScrew® mini

Designed for simplicity and efficiency in process development, our single-use cell culture system with 850 cm² of growth area is now available. This system integrates seamlessly with its larger counterparts, CellScrew® 6K and CellScrew® 10K, making it ideal for seed train expansion processes of adherent cells on a small footprint.

Thanks to its innovative design and surface treatment, the CellScrew® mini provides an exceptional growth environment for cells. With your first order, you will receive an adapter that allows you to cultivate three CellScrew® minis within the same space as one CellScrew® 6K. This adaptability enhances your workflow efficiency and maximizes your lab's productivity.

The bottlenecks of affordable advanced therapies

Imagine a world where chronic diseases like heart disease, cancer, and diabetes are cured through advanced cell and gene therapies (CGT). While these therapies promise transformative, lifelong treatments, the bioprocessing industry faces a significant "Manufacturing Capacity Crunch." This crunch hinders the production of therapies, increasing costs and limiting access.

Key issues include a shortage of skilled workers, complex supply chain challenges, and limited manufacturing space. Short-term fixes like expanding facilities and hiring more staff are not enough. Instead, improving production efficiency through scalable systems, digitization, and automation is crucial.

Made for your seed train: our CellScrew® series

We have carefully engineered the design of the CellScrew® series to optimize both scale-up and scale-down processes during adherent cell manufacturing. This innovative system features a unique structure comprised of concentric cylinders and Archimedes' screws, providing ideal growth conditions for cells.

The design ensures a seamless transition and initiation for your adherent cell manufacturing needs, enhancing efficiency and productivity.

The CellScrew® series is available in various growth area sizes to accommodate different manufacturing scales: 850 cm², 6,000 cm², and 10,000 cm². Whether you're ramping up production or conducting smaller-scale experiments, the CellScrew® series offers the adaptability and reliability needed for successful cell culture processes.

Promote sustainability with the Green Elephant® 96-well plates

Enhance your lab's sustainability efforts with our innovative plant-based 96-well plates, available in black, white, and transparent versions. Made from plant-based plastic, they reduce COâ‚‚ emissions by 50% compared to standard polystyrene plates. With a flat-bottom shape and excellent optical properties, these plates allow you to perform your assays and tests with the same reliability but in a much greener way.

March 2024: You are the first to know: Two new sustainable alternatives for your lab

Crafting this newsletter edition has been an absolute joy. Since our last update, numerous exciting developments have happened, and it’s gratifying to reflect on our collective accomplishments: Among these achievements, the successful launch of our transparent plant-based 96-well plate stands out prominently, propelled by a viral post from our founder Joel. The overwhelming feedback reaffirmed the need for sustainable laboratory consumables. This is further supported by the recognition of our plates as the "Sustainable Product of the Year" by readers of the German industry magazine LABO, as well as a second-place award at the Wallhäußer Innovation Award.

January 2024: Do you like being among the first?

How would elephants spread the word about sustainable lab products? They probably would use infrasound to communicate the remarkable optical properties of the world’s first 96-well plate to their peers up to 10 km away. While that sounds intriguing, we recognize the need for a broader reach to let more people know how they can make labs greener.
